Corrections & removal requests

Last updated: 6 October 2026

We want every record on Malta Company Search to be accurate and fair. This page explains what we can change, how to ask, and what happens next.

1. Where the information comes from

Company records, gaming licences and financial-services licences are taken from public registers kept by the Malta Business Registry (MBR), the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). We show the information as the register publishes it.

If the official register is wrong, it needs to be corrected with the authority that keeps it — the corrected record then reaches us at the next refresh. We cannot change the official registers.

2. What we can correct ourselves

  • Information we display differently from the source register (a formatting or processing error on our side).
  • A licence linked to the wrong company — for example where an MFSA entry without a company number was matched to a company by name.
  • Out-of-date information where the register has already been updated — we can refresh it sooner.

3. Removing personal details

If you are named on the site — as a director, company secretary, representative, shareholder or licence holder — you can ask us to remove or limit your personal details, such as a residential address, under your rights under the GDPR (Articles 17 and 21). We review every request individually, balancing your interests against the public interest in transparent company information, and we will explain our decision.

Because the information remains on the official register, we also recommend contacting the relevant authority directly.

4. How to make a request

  1. Use our contact form (topic “Correction or removal request”) or email info@maltacompanysearch.com.
  2. Include the company name or registration number and the page address, if you have it.
  3. Tell us what is wrong and what it should say, or which details you want removed and why.
  4. For personal-data requests, tell us your connection to the record so we can verify the request is genuine.

5. What happens next

  • We acknowledge requests within 5 working days.
  • Most requests are resolved within a few working days, and always within one month as required by data-protection law (or we will tell you why more time is needed).
  • We keep a minimal record of the request so that removed details don't reappear at the next data refresh.

If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to Malta's data-protection authority, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC).
